Power of Positivity in High School

Power of Positivity in High School Keeping A Positive Mind In High School I know high school can be tough. Even if you think you're the only one who feels that way, you would be wrong. Everyone goes through the fear of transition to high school. The best way of keeping a positive mind is to just focus on the better things to come. I have come to realize that high school will probably be the easiest part of my life. Now, you may think I'm crazy. Take it from someone who has graduated. I was terrified senior year. Even if I knew I was gonna graduate I still had that little fear. I think in a way everyone does. We all wanted the same thing senior year and that was to be done. The things that kept me positive were having great support from my teachers and everyone and also thinking that I could do it. You never want to have it in your mind that you are gonna fail or you most likely will. While graduating is important, remember to go out and have a little...

Make New Friends, But Keep the Old

Make New Friends, But Keep the Old My guess is, now that you're in high school, your group has changed. It's not uncommon for people to drift apart once they get older. I certainly don't talk to the same people I used to. It may be because you are just different people now. It's not a bad thing to change who you talk to. I am going to give you a bit of advice on how to keep your friends but also make new ones.  How To Maintain Good Relationships I want to start off by letting you know how to maintain good relationships. I think to maintain good relationships with others is to just listen to what the other person is saying. Also, technology is great and innovative but can be taken the wrong way at times. An example would be how convenient texting is nowadays, but still just a regular phone call can serve the same purpose or even better. I feel like we lose our emotions via text and can't really express our tone of voice. The best way to keep a good relations...

Welcome Back to Surviving High School

Welcome Back to Surviving High School Today in my blog I am going to be talking about how to be a good student. If you are like me, then you like to stay on top of things. If you aren't like me, then you might want to consider reading this. All throughout my life as a student even before high school I wanted to do well. As most of us do, I wanted to make the people in my life proud of me. If you want to do well then you have to do the work. I get it, you may be tired of school and the endless hours of work that come with it. Believe me, we've all been there at some point in our lives or getting there. The best advice I can give to you is to do the work. I can say even though I wanted to do well I got tired of the work by senior year. When you think about it, you have to think about the good things to come. Do I wish I could change some of the things I did in high school? Of course I do, but that's a part of learning. As a student you do need to make some mistakes. If...

Getting to Know Who I Am

Hello, my name is Ellen and this is Surviving High School. The reason I chose to write my blog about high school is that a lot of people can relate. I am interested in writing this because I think it could help a lot of students. In the next three posts I will be writing about how to be a good student, how to maintain good relationships, and how to stay positive. I can relate to a lot of this because I went through a lot of challenges throughout my high school career. Everyone goes through their own challenges in high school but my hope in writing this is to try and help anyone I can to succeed. The most important thing I learned is keep your friends close. The people you keep close are the ones who will push you through the tough times. I am a shy person who had a small group in high school. I considered us the nerdy ones but we always had a good time and looked out for each other. What I want high schoolers to get out of my blog is that they can do anything. The best way to succeed i...
